George T. Komen, 87, of Mt. Prospect, formerly of Glenview and Winnetka, May 6th, beloved husband of and best friend for 54 years to Lenora, nee Giambastian; dear brother of Katherine Wall, Marie Crowley, Ann Fiemore, the late Agnes Mienke and John Komen; son of the late John and Margaret Komen; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Veteran of WWII U.S. Army and recipient of the Bronze Star. Worked for 36 years with Winnetka School District 36 and Northbrook School District 28 as Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. Member of the Des Plaines Elks Club and New Trier TWP. VFW. Visitation Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at N. H. Scott & Hebblethwaite Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (2 blks S. of Lake Ave. on the west side) where funeral service will be held Friday 10 a.m. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum.
