Both sides in the Middle East crisis are guilty of horrific acts of audacity.
How can Palestinians who support suicide-bombers believe in any way that their victims would allow a Palestinian state ruled by terrorists to be formed right next to them?
How can Israelis, who have been building settlements on the West Bank for 35 years, in violation of various accords and the will of the entire Islamic World, believe that these acts would not enrage all the world’s Muslims and put us all in danger from terrorists?
They have handed the terrorists a legitimate issue for driving a wedge between the West and the Islamic world.
That’s the saddest element of this situation.
Because two belligerent governments can’t change their behavior, all the world is now in more danger from terrorism. These two groups have contributed substantially toward putting Americans in harm’s way, making our society more vulnerable to economic ruin and possible loss of oil and, of course, more terrorist acts upon our soil.
Americans, across the board, simply cannot tolerate any longer being put at grave personal risk when they get on an airplane or conduct their normal lives.
The terrorist attacks against Israel must stop. Israel must remove all of its settlements from the West Bank–all of them. All nations of the world must demand and enforce an agreed-upon solution.
