Amanda Berthelsen, age 96, a life-long resident of Chicago, died Monday, May 13, 2002. She was born Dec. 4, 1905. Beloved wife of the late Bert Berthelsen. Survived by her close friends, K.L. and Ardel Frandsen of Palatine, IL, Mary Frandsen of Midland, MI, Scott Frandsen of Atlanta, GA, and her friend since childhood, Alice Whyte of Chicago. Also surviving are friends, Ralph and Barbara Christoffersen of Boulder, CO, and many friends from Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Chicago and the Bethesda Retirement Home. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Chicago; a loyal supporter of the Lutheran Day Nursery, Chicago; and a former member of the Prairie Club. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 16, at 1 p.m. with a visitation at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel at the Bethesda Home and Retirement Center, 2833 N. Nordica, Chicago. 773-622-6144.
