Dora Krueger, died May 10, 2002, just shy 2 months of completing her 105 years of wonderful life. Born July 4, 1897 on Deerfield Road in Highland Park, IL and lived there all her life until she moved to St. Benedict Nursing and Rehab Center, Niles, IL in April of 1994. She retired from the telephone company at age 65. For over 25 years she volunteered at Villa St. Cyril in Highland Park, serving as receptionist. Officially at age 99 she became the oldest associate of the Sisters of SS Cyril & Methodius and helped out until her last days. Father Bob Noonan, her cousin from Ireland, will celebrate her Funeral Mass at St. Benedict’s. Dora has four Godchildren and a few cousins. Her two sisters, Mary Esther and Ella, have gone before her. Her longevity is attributed to her good sense of humor, volunteering, praying the rosary and going to Mass each day and remember “always eat your dessert first”. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until time of Mass at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 15 at St. Benedict Nursing Center, 6930 W. Touhy, Niles, IL. Visitation will also be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon Wednesday, May 15 at Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sisters of SS. Cyril & Methodius Villa Sacred Heart, Danville, PA 17821.
