We caught a peek at the new “Star Wars” film, “Attack of the Clones.” Since it’s still two days and counting until the film opens, we’re not allowed to review it yet (otherwise, we might face the wrath of Darth Vader). But here are 10 details we can share–so if you see the flick, be on the lookout. Until then, let your imagination do the rest. Or, as Yoda himself might say, “Use the Force!”
Natalie Portman (pictured left as Senator Amidala) changes costumes 16 times!
Another side of Yoda’s Jedi personality comes out.
That goof of the galaxy, Jar Jar Binks, is back but gets less screen time than in “The Phantom Menace.”
The not-yet-golden C-3PO appears more put-together than in “Phantom”–and is full of puns during the last half of the movie.
One of the coolest action sequences takes place on a conveyor belt.
Three of the scariest space creatures you’ve ever seen are unveiled in a scene that resembles the gladiator days of ancient Rome’s Colosseum.
While scolding Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) cracks a joke that refers to a key scene from the original “Star Wars” trilogy. (To catch it, it’ll help if you’re a die-hard “Star Wars” fan!)
Horror-movie veteran Christopher Lee plays a former Jedi knight-turned-bad guy (Count Dooku) and yes, there are female Jedi knights. (You’ll see them in a key fight scene.)
In one space chase scene, Ewan McGregor (pictured above left) actually looks sick–which he was. He was seated in a motion simulator.
To amuse himself and impress Amidala, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) takes a ride on an animal that looks like a cross between a buffalo and a stegosaurus.
