William T. Arling, 45, of Prospect Heights, described by family members as a fun-loving man who loved the outdoors, died Saturday, May 11, in Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge of complications from injuries he received April 7 in a bicycle accident in Prospect Heights. Raised in Arlington Heights, Mr. Arling graduated from Hersey High School and served about a year in the Air Force after high school. He enjoyed reading science books–especially those on astronomy–bicycling around the northwest suburbs, and camping in the West, said his brother Edward. “He was a very generous, outgoing man,” his brother said. Other survivors include his mother, Dorothy; another brother, David; and a sister, Barbara Douville. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Colette Catholic Church, 3900 Meadows Drive, Rolling Meadows. A mass will follow in the church.
