Carpenter, age 55, crossed May 14, 2002, 3:55 a.m. in Hopkinsville, KY, from sudden illness with his two children at his side; he was survived by his mother Florence Swenson, Huntsville, AL; brothers Kenneth Carpenter of Huntsville, AL and James Carpenter of Des Plaines, IL; sister Joan Steinwachs of Cadiz, KY; daughter Dawn Dillon; son John Carpenter and four grandchildren. The deceased requested that no formal visitation be held. Saturday May 25, a small memorial will be held in Cadiz, KY.
