I am writing in response to your political cartoon on the May 14 Editorial page, depicting Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft as the “latest threat to homeland security.”
Ashcroft is doing his job by defending our inalienable and constitutional rights (“White House backs right to own guns,” News, May 8).
I am an ardent patriot and believer of the founding fathers’ principles. I spent eight years of my life in the military sworn to defend the U.S. Constitution and the rights of every American. I have no intention of ever giving up any of these rights, and I will continue defending these rights until I die.
I’m going to volunteer wherever I can to battle this anti-gun bias. So, make your anti-gun bias even more blatant. I hope it will make more people like myself finally stand up.
