Not once during the six-week hostile takeover of the Church of the Nativity has anyone from the Christian community voiced any sense of moral outrage for these acts. The area reportedly sustained battle-fire damage. The stench of human excrement and garbage prevailed throughout the grotto. Gun-wielding men patrolled this hallowed ground where Jesus took his first breaths.

So where were the Billy Grahams, Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons during this time? I find this Christian-leadership silence hypocritical. Had this incident involved an Islamic mosque, fundamentalist leadership would have resonated its cry without restraint worldwide.
