The revelations that the Bush administration was warned about possible hijackings by Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network but was futile in preventing the mass murder of Sept. 11 makes me wonder if future generations will read stories comparing Pearl Harbor and Sept. 11 not only in terms of tragedy, but with the uncertainty of whether our presidents had ulterior motives in letting our defenses down.
Maybe U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) isn’t so crazy after all.
