I was very disappointed to read the May 16 bold print, screaming headline, “Bush told of threat before 9/11.” If the reader cared to read further, he would learn that the threat was non-specific and did not indicate in any way that the planes were planned to be used as missiles.

Readers of only the headline were led to the conclusion that President Bush knew of the Sept. 11 plan and should have been able to prevent it.

What is the news value? I think the intent was to chip away at Bush’s support from the American people and to introduce an element of doubt in the competence of our leader. That type of biased reporting plays right into the hands of our enemy.
