Everett F. Smith, 69, of Bettendorf, IA, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at Genesis West Medical Center, Davenport. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery, those wishing to attend the service need to meet at the Runge Mortuary on Saturday by 9:15 a.m. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Everett was born August 1, 1932 in Prairie du Rocher, IL. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of the Goodman Theatre in 1957. He had been employed by the Chicago Park District as a well-known actor and director of plays for the Lincoln Park Theatre in Chicago retiring in 1989. He then moved to the Quad Cities where he was an actor. Everett is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Cathy Smith, California and son Gary Smith and fiancee Debbie Janc, Chicago; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie Giandonato Bauchwitz and Henry of Plainfield, IL, and Paula and Erich Bassett, Richmond, IL; nine grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Anglick, Davenport; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harman Smith Jr.
