John G. Spathis, Veteran of WW II, beloved husband of the late Lena Spathis and best friend of Lottie Jarzemski; loving father of Peggy Ann (Lou) Agnos and George J. (Shelly) Spathis; devoted grandfather of Dennis, Jennifer, Diana, Lauren and Grant Spathis; dear brother of Violet (Tom) Athanis, Maryann (Jim) Cort and the late Barbara (Byron) Kyrillis and Sam (Georgia) Spathis; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. John’s memberships included Masonic Lodge No. 127 AF & AM, VFW Post No. 3854 and the American Legion in Skokie, Loyal Order of Moose in Morton Grove and Shoreline AHEPA. Visitation Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Family and friends will meet Friday morning at SS. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Rd.
