Do the people of this country really believe the Democrats are picking on President George W. Bush?
He certainly is defending himself as if they are.
I must have missed the point he is defending, that the Democrats are saying he missed picking up intelligence reports prior to Sept 11. I didn’t interpret it that way.
As I understood it, the Democrats were saying there were a number of points of intelligence that were available but missed before the Sept. 11 attack that should have been sent to the president.
Someone or an agency or two did not do their jobs. The intelligence messages were not sent to the proper location. Somebody goofed and we should know about it.
I think the Democrats have every right to wonder why someone in Bush’s bunch didn’t find out what happened, punish those who messed up and let the people of this country know what really did happen and what administration officials plan to do about it so that it doesn’t happen again.
The Democrats would be willing and able to help our president if only he would give them the chance. Maybe he should ask for their advice and help to get this country back on track.
