Louis E. Fioretti, 79, born in Chicago, and longtime South Side resident. A decorated WWII U.S. Army 787 Field Artillery Battalion Veteran of Fort Bragg, and served as a cannoneer and battery commander for the M1 155mm Long Tom in Central Europe and part of the Normandy Invasion. Recipient of the Bronze Star and four Oak Leaf Clusters. Beloved husband of Constance, nee Burgerosky; loving father of Edward Louis (Paula), John (Jackie), Gail (Gary) Nelson, Lynn and Gerald (Dina) Fioretti; dear grandfather of John, Jeremy, Reid, and Peggy Fioretti; brother of Angeline Greiser, Bernice (Harry) Natywa, the late Louise Vaskys, Florence Rife, and Bill Fioretti; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Entrepreneur in Chicago, owning several automobile service stations, automobile dealerships, one of Chicago’s largest horse ranches, and a prominent Fox Lake, IL resort and marina. Past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Gasoline Retailer’s Association. He was also an avid photographer, and a loyal White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. He was also a Chicago area boxing sensation and one of Joe Louis’s sparring partners. His greatest love was his family. Funeral Wednesday, 10:15 a.m., from Donnellan Funeral Home, 10525 S.
