Anna I. Noll, 77, of Libertyville, a retired registered nurse, died Thursday, May 30, in Winchester House. Mrs. Noll was born and raised in Conde, S.D., and served in the Women’s Army Corps as a nurse’s cadet during World War II. She was stationed in Colorado Springs and cared for injured soldiers. After the war, Mrs. Noll moved to Waukegan and was a nurse at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan from the 1950s to the late 1960s. She worked an additional 18 years as a nurse at Winchester House nursing home. She retired in the late 1980s. She also volunteered for nearly 20 years at the Wooden Nickel, a secondhand store in Waukegan. “She was a tough and independent woman,” said her son, William. Other survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Hatzung, Diana Ragan and Christy; a sister, Marguerite Shultz; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Frolic Ave., Waukegan. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
