Jerry Thomas Rudman, of Brookhaven, MS. Services 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9 at Saint Francis Catholic Church, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation Saturday, June 8, 4 to 9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, with a wake prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Rudman, age 75, died June 4, 2002 at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born May 8, 1927 in Chicago, the son of the late Jerry and Valasta Rudman. Mr. Rudman, a graduate of the University of Illinois and a Certified Public Accountant, moved to Brookhaven in 1954 to serve as Controller of Johnston Lawn Mower Corporation, one of the first manufacturing companies in Brookhaven. In 1962 he opened his independent accounting practice. He served the community as a past president and active member of the Brookhaven Noon Lions Club, Director of the Brookhaven Country Club, United Fund Drive Co-Chairman, President of the Industrial Development Foundation of the Chamber of Commerce, Brookhaven School Board Member for 10 years, and Secretary-Treasurer of Brookhaven Lincoln County Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. He was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Delores Sloboda. Survivors are his wife, Iris Coker Rudman; his sons, Jerry Rudman of New Hope, PA, Jon Rudman of Ramstein, Germany and Joel Rudman of Niceville, FL; daughters, Judy Rudman of Brookhaven and Suzanne Brooks of Georgetwon, TX; one sister, Shirley Glenn of Mattoon, IL; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Ministries, Inc., 397 Brookhaven Street or St. Francis Catholic Church, 227 East Cherokee Street.
