This sprawling ranch house at 3850 E. 97th Ave. in Crown Point, Ind., is a homage to the curve. As constructed in 1977, the house was a standard rectangle. But, after its near-total redesign in the early 1990s and the addition of bedroom wings at either end, it now forms a gentle arc. Included in the redesign were two circular areas, both under a pointed dome or turret; a rotunda, just outside the master bedroom, paneled in cedar; and a breakfast room around a round table. And outside, the in-ground pool is–what else?–round. THE GREAT OUTDOORS: The house, on a 10-acre site, is reached by a long, curving drive past a large pond, shared with the neighbors to the west. BY THE NUMBERS: The nine-room home features four bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, two fireplaces, a three-car garage and one kennel building, heated and air- conditioned, in which the present owner raised English bulldogs.
