Robert Emerson Hallberg, age 87, of Old Port Cove, North Palm Beach, FL, passed away at home on Tuesday morning, June 4, 2002 after a prolonged illness. He was born and raised in Evanston, IL, son of the late Otto and Lucille, nee Noonan, Hallberg, he moved to North Palm Beach from Winnetka, IL in 1973. Mr. Hallberg was a United States Army veteran of World War II, he was employed by North American Car Company, Chicago, IL for 25 years before retiring as Executive Vice-President, Mr. Hallberg was a member of the Beach Club, Palm Beach, FL and the Old Port Cove Yacht Club. He was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Katherine Hallberg, who died in 1997. Mr. Hallberg is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Pearce Hallberg; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Uihlein, of Lake Forest, IL; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
