“I don’t drink or anything,” says 18-year-old Diane Dziedzic of Orland Park. “I just love to dance. It’s fun to be able to go somewhere where everybody isn’t on Ecstasy and doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing. I wish there could be more places for people like me.”

This is a common sentiment of Chicago’s younger set — particularly those who happen to be between the ages of 16 and 21. They don’t have many choices for night life, unless they attend rave parties or try to use a fake I.D. to get into a club.

But more and more places in the Chicago area are catering to that age group — a group that wants to party in an alcohol- and drug-free way while still feeling a part of the “in” crowd. Here are a few.
