The Tribune reports that U.S. Rep. Rod Blagojevich is ignoring his job in Washington while he is trying to become governor (“Blagojevich voting record falls to 50%; Congressman also missed key committee polls,” Metro, May 27).
What if you ignored your job 50 percent of the time, for months on end? And you did this while trying to get a new and better job. Then your employer found out about it. You’d be fired with just cause.
We are his employer and he is being paid to represent the people of his district in Congress. He isn’t.
If he were to be elected governor, how could we trust him to do his job?
Why doesn’t he show his true character and resign as a representative so he can campaign for governor? But then, maybe he already is showing his true character.
