Eileen J. Terry, 63, a lifelong resident of Warrenville and a ham radio operator, died Monday, June 10, in Kindred Hospital in Sycamore, from cancer and related illnesses. Born in Aurora, Ms. Terry was a 1958 graduate of Wheaton Community High School. For many years, she worked as a freelance journalist for the Marc Times Racing News, an auto racing magazine, and other publications. She was a ham radio operator, with call letters N9TWS, and a weather spotter for DuPage County. “She was very skilled on her ham radio,” said her brother, William Terry. “She used it to get up to the second reports on weather conditions during storms from various sources and then she’d pass it along to the authorities.” Ms. Terry also volunteered with the American Red Cross and made dolls for Christmas giving projects for local charities. Other survivors include several nephews and nieces. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Community Baptist Church of Warrenville, 28W444 Main St., Warrenville.
