Mary Ellen Schmitz, nee O’Malley, age 69, of Lake Barrington, formerly of Hoffman Estates and Milwaukee, WI, beloved wife of Ambrose J. “Bruce”; mother of Jeanne (Robert) Cooke, James (Judee), Julie (Brian) Szutkowski, Joan and Jennifer; grandmother of seven; dear daughter of the late William J. and the late Genevieve O’Malley, former Election Commissioner of Milwaukee; dear sister of Pat Malone of Brookfield, WI and William (Nancy) O’Malley of Carmel, IN and sister-in-law of John Schmitz of New Berlin, WI; aunt of 13. Born in Milwaukee, WI on April 16, 1933, died at her home on June 11, 2002. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy and Marquette Univ. Nursing School. Visitation at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday. In State Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St., Barrington, IL. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
