I feel the new tax on cigarettes is very discriminating.

I agree that smoking is a health hazard.

But why should those who choose to smoke have to pay more than other people with health hazards do?

Why not a higher tax on liquor?

Liquor affects your health.

Better yet–they should tax obesity.

Obesity is a health hazard.

And I believe they could get rid of the total budget deficit if they chose that route.

If more taxes are to be paid to delete the budget deficit, then the government should think of a way that all people of Illinois pay and not just those who smoke.
