I applaud the June 6 letter by Waqar A. Siddiqi, “American Muslims.” His very clear condemnation of the acts of terror by his fellow Muslims is a refreshing statement.
But I know millions around the world would feel a lot better hearing the same language employed publicly by Muslim clerics and religious leaders. Clear condemnation by those individuals would go a long way to help clarify the position of Muslims worldwide.
