Robert W. Benson, 78, of Crystal Lake, IL, died June 14, at Northern Illinois Medical Center. Born June 7, 1924 in Omaha, NE. Beloved husband to Jeanne, nee Serviss, Benson; wonderful father to James (Elizabeth) Benson of Indian Head, MD and William (Elaine) Benson of Crystal Lake; beloved grandfather to Colleen, Shannon, Erin, Will, Robert, Mikey and Kathleen. Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Helen, nee Rist, Benson. WWII Veteran; Commander of VFW Post 6004; Member of American Legion Post 171; and member of St. Mary Episcopal Church.
