Elmer P. Struck, 78, of Glen Ellyn, IL at rest June 12, 2002 at Hines Veteran’s Hospital. Born February 13, 1924, he was the youngest son of Christian and Christine, nee Stumpf. Beloved husband of the late Esther M.; loving father of James R. Struck of Manteno, IL; dear friend of Joan Jankowski; proud uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter, Herbert, Edward and stepmother Rosine. He will be missed by many caring friends and neighbors. Mr. Struck graduated from Maine Township H.S. in 1942 and served his country in the 30th Infantry of the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Esther Fick in June of 1949, their son James was born in 1954. A long time resident of both Bensenville and Villa Park. Mr. Struck was a Quality Control Inspector at Flick Reedy Corporation and Grayco Industries. He later drove a special needs bus for the Cottage Hill Bus Company. He was a member of Community Congregational Church in Villa Park and active in local government, serving the Villa Park Planning & Zoning Commission. Most recently he served as Treasurer for the Royal Glen Condominium Association. Funeral Monday 11 a.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment Elm Lawn Cemetery.
