Rev. Michael Fernanedez, C.M.F., ordained a Priest on May 3, 1953 in Spain, beloved son of the late Miguel and Beatriz Fernandez; dear brother of the late Carlos (Maria Victoria) Fernandez; fond uncle of Beatriz Carasa de Font. Fr. Michael served as a teacher in Spain, Associate Pastor in San Juan, Puerto Rico, San Marcos, TX and Chicago parishes of St. Francis of Assisi, Holy Cross Immaculate Heart of Mary and Our Lady of Guadalupe, where he also served as a Pastor from 1976-1981. Fr. Fernandez will lie in state for visitation Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3200 E. 91st St., Chicago.
