In “Climbers beware” (Voice of the people, June 11), the letter writer suggested we should not attempt to rescue climbers (too costly I suppose) and that if they want to do foolish things, we should not worry about their mishaps.
Climbers are among those we should try the hardest to get back if we can.
Do we send defibrillators to people who go into cardiac arrest watching television?
If we don’t try to rescue people who climb mountains, whom do we rescue?
