Walter “Wally” Melzer, of Cary, NC, 82, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22 at Cary Presbyterian Church, 614 Griffis St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Melzer, of the home; son, Ronald and his wife, Linda of Apex; grandchildren, Jennifer Triplett and husband, Chris, of Raleigh and Suzanne Melzer of Apex; brother, Herbert Melzer of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his father, Gustav Melzer; mother, Bertha Melzer; sister, Elsie Meinzer; and grandson, Chad Melzer. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas, Raleigh, NC.
