By the looks of it, our Scoop Troopers will do just about anything to get our attention: climb a wall, lose their heads, even shrink or stretch themselves. But don’t let your eyes fool you!
These tricky pics are optical illusions, taken by a regular camera but from angles designed to make you do a double-take. We’ll give you the how-to’s so you can try snapping pics of your own. Or, check out Tricky Pix ($18, Klutz) by Paula Weed and Carla Jimison for lots more ideas. The fun-tastic book inspired our photos (and comes with a reusable 35-mm camera).
But first, we want to thank our models: Scoop Troopers Cara P., 14, of Lake Forest; Jamie S., 11, of Skokie; Zachary S., 12, of Chicago; Andy Q., 11, of Lake Forest; and Laura Y., 12, of Chicago. During our recent photo shoot at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, they endured icky, rainy weather and sloppy conditions yet managed to smile all the way through it. Great job, guys!
