Proposals for a coach home subdivision and a mixed-use development are being considered by the Naperville Plan Commission.

One developer is proposing 27 coach homes on 4.7 acres at the northwest corner of Ring Road and Washington Street. The project, called the Copper Leaf subdivision, will include two-story units ranging from 1,866 to 1,942 square feet.

The units would be constructed along a cul-de-sac that would extend Kingsley Road just north of Ring. Developers are asking for a variance to install sidewalks on the west and north sides of the street. The land was originally zoned for commercial.

Commissioners are expected to continue discussion of the project July 10.

Also, developer Cantore Construction Co. wants to annex 26 acres on the northeast corner of Illinois Highway 59 and Cantore Road for a mixed-use development of commercial, office and residential uses.

Several residents living adjacent to the property voiced concerns during a public hearing about increased traffic, construction traffic and whether large trees on the property would be removed.

Commissioners are expected to also review this project July 10.
