Earle S. Martin, age 81, of Lawton, MI, formerly of Chicago, passed away June 25, 2002 at his home. Born July 12, 1920 in Chicago, the son of the late Arthur and Hilda, nee Lundstrom, Martin. U.S. Navy Vet. WWII. He was a fireman for the City of Chicago retiring on April 23, 1983. Member of the Firefighters Union Local #2, Chicago, American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post #68, Paw Paw, 40/8 Voiture #161, Kalamazoo and past Commander of the V.F.W. Post #4054, Marcellus, MI. Survived by wife, Gloria L., nee Busch; daughters, Christine (Joseph) Panico of Chicago and Charlene (Gerald) Adams of Lawton, MI; sons, Earle (Teresa) Martin Jr. of Schoolcraft and Michael Martin of Lawton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Arthur Martin; and a sister, June Dettloff. Visitation Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where Funeral Services will be Friday 11 a.m. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions to charity of choice.
