I recently returned to Florida after a weeklong visit to the Chicago area to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. While there, I borrowed a pair of 9-inch kitchen scissors from my mother to use with decorations. As I was ready to leave, I informed my mother that I could not locate the scissors.
I later was entering the Ft. Myers, Fla., courthouse and I was called at security for having scissors in my purse. Sure enough, there were the kitchen scissors that I had misplaced in Chicago.
I find it hard to believe that they managed to get from Chicago to Florida in my purse, most especially when my purse was screened by airport security at Midway Airport. Are they really paying attention to what they see on those screens? Frightening!
