It is now widespread practice in the restaurant industry that if your food order takes more than a reasonable amount of time to be served or delivered, then your meal is free of charge.
As a frustrated, frequent customer of the Chicago Transit Authority, I would like to see this tenet of good customer service extended to the public transportation industry.
I propose that when bus or train service is running more than 20 minutes behind schedule, barring weather or traffic stops outside of the driver’s control, riders should ride free.
