Viernes, WWII U.S. Army Veteran, entered his eternal reward at the age of 90 in Nevada, formerly of Chicago, beloved husband of 54 years to Ramona, nee Soliven; loving father of Ronald (Ann) Viernes, Ethel (Dr. Edward) Shapiro, Albert James Viernes, Yolanda Viernes and the late Joseph Viernes; cherished grandfather of Michael, Peter, Ashlee, Minette, Lyssa, Chriselle and the late Lisa Marie; and great-grandfather of Courtney; dear brother of Aguida Galiguis, Magdalena Llantada and the late Nicholas and Maximino Viernes; uncle, cousin and friend to many. Retired employee of University of Chicago Hospital Ben May Lab. Cancer Research and RR Donnelley & Sons Company. Member of the American Legion Filipino American #509. Former Yo-Yo Champion 1932, employed by Duncan Co. and demonstrator to schools all over the country for 11 years. Funeral Saturday 9 a.m. from Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S.
