George Alan “Al” Scherry, age 63, late of Homer Glen, Thursday, June 27, 2002 at his late residence with his family at his side. Born in Ohio, living in the area for 20 years. Employed by Volvo-GMC Trucks of Chicago for 11 years. Member of Lockport Moose Lodge #1557. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Irene, nee Lenga, Scherry. Survived by his wife Ruth, nee Ruettiger; his children Barbara (Roger) Hiller of Custer Park, Beth (Greg) Strand of Lakeland, FL, Kimberly Mroz of New Lenox, Sandra Aron of Manhattan, Theresa (Brad) Hertzmann of Plainfield and Jeffrey Aron of Homer Glen; six grandchildren Mark, Mitchel, Ashly, Jaclyn, Nick and Abbigail; a sister Carol Ann (Jimmie) Auer of Westchester and a brother Dale Edwin (Sandra) of Rock Hill, MO; several nieces and nephews also survive.
