A world-class boomerang thrower faces a criminal charge after trying to bring boomerangs through a security checkpoint Sunday night at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.
Betsylew Ross Miale-Gix, 43, a lawyer from Brier, Wash., and member of the U.S. Boomerang team, was arrested after arguing with a security screener, state police said.
The screener noticed the boomerangs inside her carry-on luggage and told her they had to be checked, at which time Miale-Gix began cursing and grabbed her bags.
Miale-Gix, who posted $500 bond, said she was concerned because the boomerangs are breakable.
