On Sunday, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won a title as a coach when his Oklahoma Storm defeated Kansas 122-109 in the United States Basketball League championship game. He’s now become an ex-coach.
Storm spokesman Eric Newendorp said Tuesday that the NBA Hall of Famer and team owner James Sears Bryant reached a “mutual decision” that Abdul-Jabbar would end his involvement with the team. He declined further comment.
Abdul-Jabbar, 55, had said he thought the Storm job could help him advance his coaching career.
