Whenever there is a tragic death of a child, many people feel compelled to do something to honor the child’s memory. They leave flowers, candles or stuffed toys. After exposure to the elements, these items are discarded.
A more fitting tribute would be the donation of a book to the child’s school or local library. Libraries will place a bookplate with the child’s name and the name of the donor in the book.
The child will be remembered by every family that reads the book for years to come.
