Regarding the hormone replacement therapy controversy, both my mother and sister died of breast cancer, neither having ever been on HRT.
But my sister fell and broke her hip in her late 50s, which crippled her, despite two surgeries to replace a hip prosthesis.
It comes down to, “Would you rather have a headache or an upset stomach,” to use a trite cliche.
The fact is, most postmenopausal women die of heart trouble, period.
Why should a woman live almost half her life without hormones because nature goofed?
Evidently evolution hasn’t gotten the word that women nowadays have a life expectancy of approximately 83 years.
As for me, I’ll take my chances with HRT!
