When Volvo’s XC90 sport-utility vehicle goes on sale in November, the base model will start at $35,100 and T6 at $39,975. Both will have all-wheel-drive, and the T6 adds leather seats, a power sunroof, in-dash CD changer and a 6-cylinder engine (instead of a 5-cylinder). A front-wheel-drive model due to arrive in early 2003 will have a base price of $33,350. The prices do not include the $625 destination charge.
– Volkswagen is stopping U.S. sales of the Cabrio, a convertible based on the Rabbit, after selling more than 223,000 in the U.S. since 1979. VW said the last U.S.-bound Cabrio rolled off the Puebla, Mexico, assembly line this summer. The Cabrio will be replaced by the 2003 Beetle convertible.
