Robert Samuelson is not wrong in “Retirement is now more than a notion” (Commentary, Aug. 2), but he leaves out one very important item.
That is the fact that once workers hit 50 and beyond, the companies they work for would much prefer if those workers just dropped dead, and if you lose a job at 50 or older, no one will hire you.
