With the West Nile virus spreading like wildfire, this is a good time to take a hard look at all the water retention pools (I call them mosquito ponds) that are mandated on all new construction projects.
The laws are unwittingly creating a multitude of new breeding areas for mosquitoes. We should look for a better solution to storm water runoff.
