As I watched President and Mrs. Bush on Sept. 11, I was struck by several things.
At no time did their eyes ever seek out a camera.
Both listened intently to those speaking to them.
The hugs and kisses were spontaneous acts of emotion.
Smiles were in their eyes as well as on their lips.
But the most noticeable thing was how it was the males who pushed forward to greet the president, not the usual gaggle of females.
Yes, it was a beautiful display of dignity from our president.
And I am glad the whole world saw what I did.
