Anyone who has witnessed a loved one suffer and die from the effects of secondhand smoke applauds the efforts of Ald. Edward Burke (14th) and Ald. Ed Smith (28th) (“Smoke ban on menu for city; 2 aldermen set to reignite issue,” Metro, Aug. 28).
There are many Chicago events we suburbanites would attend if it weren’t for the secondhand smoke.
