The National Achievement Scholarship Program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corp., has announced the semifinalists for its 39th annual academic competition for black high school students. The 1,500 national semifinalists will compete for more 775 Achievement Scholarship awards, totaling more than $2.7 million, to be given out next spring in three categories.
