I wish to share with you my profound opposition to our probable war against Iraq. Unilateral decision-making is not only ethically wrong, it will, inevitably, lead our country into a destructive pattern of behavior that will affect not just the areas around Iraq itself, but our own country as well.
Our fear about our vulnerability cannot be healed by waging war. Our fears will be healed only when our world is free of fear. Thousands of years of history tell us war does not bring peace.
