The Federal Aviation Administration has agreed to extend control tower hours to 11 p.m. at the Cherry Capital Airport, in Traverse City, Mich. Northwest Airlines had planned to drop DC-9 flights from its winter schedule there because the airport’s control tower was closed at night. Northwest will phase out DC-9 flights beginning Dec. 3, but they will return in February, as opposed to April or May originally.
