Is this a shot at Bob Davie or what? After Notre Dame hammered Florida State, wide receiver Arnaz Battle (above) used the opportunity to question his team’s critics — and perhaps criticize his former coach. “Players in this program have been shocked by the criticism about us not having the athletes to compete,” Battle said. ” . . . It’s a blow to us because we have one of the top recruiting classes every year.” Which begs this question: What happened during last year’s 5-6? Or in 1999’s 5-7?
